The Reports feature in Search Boost allows you to download a CSV report of searches conducted in the search portal. You can access the Reports page in the Search Boost Control Panel. You will need to have AVT.SEARCHBOOST.INPUT module on the home page to access the Reports page. Follow the directions below to go to the Reports page.

Open Reports Page

  1. On the Search Boost Input module, click on Manage, identified on Figure 1 .

  2. Then select Search Settings, to open the Search Boost Control Panel.

  3. In the Search Boost Control Panel click on the Reports button, identified on Figure 2 with the blue arrow. This will open the Reports page.

Reports Page

The Reports page allow you to specify a start and end date for the report you would like to download. There is also a Download as CSV link for downloading the CSV file. The page also provide sections for the Latest and Popular Searches.

This page provides information about how users are conducting searches. You can use this information to tweak searches or track popular content. For example, you can use the Latest Searches section to identify search terms used and the Popular Searches section to track the number of results for each search term.

Date Fields

The Start and End Date fields, displayed on Figure 3, allow you to enter specific dates of searches you would like to download. Use the Start Date field to enter the starting date for the search and use the End Date field to enter the end date for the search. This generates a list of searches conducted between the start date and end dates.

If you would like to get all search entries before the start date specified, leave the Start Date field blank. If you want to get all search entries until the current, leave the End Date field blank.

Latest Searches

In the Latest Searches section, displayed on Figure 4, you will notice a bullet list specifying the latest searches. Each search specifies the search term, the date and time of the search and number of results. The search term is highlighted in green, the date and time highlighted in yellow and number of search results highlighted in orange.

Popular Searches

The Popular Searches section, displayed in Figure 5, provides a bullet list of searches conducted in the last 30 days. Each one specifies the search term used and number of searches conducted.

Download CSV

The Download CSV link allows you to download searches performed in the Search Boost portal. It is specified on the Reports page as Download as CSV, identified on Figure 6. When you click on this link, a CSV file is downloaded and opened with Microsoft Excel or a similar application that is compatible with CSV files. The CSV file specifies details about the searches conducted in your Search Boost module.
